While having the koi pond fish you have to take care of the temperature also because it cannot generally survive in the long winters, because their immune system stops working in the temperature which is below 50 degree F.

If you are residing in the region where the colder and longer winters comes then you have to make a pond which has greater depth to make them alive. If you want the most beautiful koi then you can go for the Japanese one because it is extremely beautiful but also expensive.
